Australia's Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) system allows visitors to Australia to obtain authority to enter Australia online via a secure processing service. ETAs are now available to passport holders from over 30 countries.

Those activities included intelligence gathering and analysis; onshore compliance activities - field work, location of illegal workers, student compliance, data matching; overseas compliance _ the Principal Migration Officer Compliance (PMOC) and Airline Liaison Officer (ALO) networks; document examination and training, investigations; and policy coordination across the field.

The people smuggling trade remained a major priority. Fraudulent documents, fraud in the caseload and related to people smuggling also received considerable effort. Staff and technical capacity have recently been increased to more than doubled our intelligence output.
